SUMMER INTENSIVE WORKSHOP 2008

MICHAEL BEARDEN - Michael joined Ballet West in 1999 as an artist and, in 2004, advanced to the rank of soloist. He began his ballet training with Ballet Arkansas under the tutelage of Kirt Hathaway and continued training at the University of Utah Department of Ballet. Before joining Ballet West in 1999, he performed with Ballet Arkansas and Tulsa Ballet. He has performed in many roles including Prince Florimund in Jonas Kåge's The Sleeping Beauty, Phlegmatic in George Balanchine's The Four Temperaments, Sugar Plum Cavalier in Willam Christensen's The Nutcracker, and in William Forsythe's Artifact II.
VICTORIA LOCK - Victoria began training with the Houston Ballet Academy at the age of seven. She performed professionally with the Houston Ballet as an apprentice during the 1998-99 season, joining Ballet West in 1999. She has performed roles that include the Autumn Fairy in Ben Stevenson’s Cinderella, Aurora and the Golden Vine Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, a pas de deux in Antony Tudor’s The Leaves Are Fading, and in Christopher Bruce’s Ghost Dances.
DENNIS POOLE - Mr Poole began his early career with Houston Ballet and National Ballet of Washington. His choreopraphy includes work with Ballet De Santiago, Euro Ballet (Luxemburg), and Cincinnati Ballet. Under his leadership, Arkansas Festival Ballet has become a performing member of Regional Dance America/Southwest. His career evolved to choreography when he accepted a position at the Choreographic Festival in Trujillo, Peru. Since 1987, Mr. Poole has worked with companies around the world including Ballet De Santigo,Euro Ballet (Luxemburg), and the Cincinnati Ballet. His work ranges from Classical Ballets such as “Nutcracker” and “Sleeping Beauty” to more contemporary interpretations. His forward thinking approach to Classical Ballet in more modern times enables his dancers to explore innovative movements grounded in Classical technique.
AARON POMEROY - Aaron Pomeroy is a dancer and choreographer who started dancing since the age of four. Since then, he has gone on to perform with The San Diego Civic Light Opera, Moonlight Stage Productions, Christian Community Theater, Lawrence Welk Resort, and in Los Angeles, Reprise! Broadways Best, Musical Theater West, East Los Angeles Classic Theater and the Mark Goodman Tap Company, among numerous others. Some of his favorites roles include Mike in A Chorus Line, Billy in The Goodbye Girl, Bobby in Crazy For You, Hortensio in Kiss Me Kate, Fyedka in Fiddler on the Roof and The Tin Man in The Wizard Of Oz. He has also performed in such hit shows as Cabaret, Footloose, The Hot Mikado, Evita, Phantom, Never Gonna Dance and Honk, among countless others. He currently resides in New York City.
